A bridal charity shop in Leeds received an anonymous donation of a stunning 1950’s lace vintage wedding dress with an equally beautiful note attached.
The donation attracted attention on social media after St. Gemma’s Hospice tweeted an appeal to trace the gentleman who handed it in.
Thanks to the media attention, the gentleman was found through members of his family and the dress raised an incredible £2,910.00 for the charity when it was listed on eBay in June 2015.
The gentleman, who wished to remain anonymous, said he had watched the story unfold with interest and that he was “Over the moon” that the dress and note had attracted such attention and were raising money for the charity.
Wedding dresses are obviously an important treasure of the special day and beyond – this gentleman’s donation is a beautiful way of showing that you really can pass on the love. We hope that the new owner of the dress is as happy as the note wishes.
